The Monthly Meeting for the
Board of Trustees for the Village of Oriskany Falls was held on Wednesday, January
21, 2015, at 6:34PM. Present at the Meeting was Mayor John Misiaszek and
Trustees Thomas Kilts, Brian Bell, Gerald Pedersen and Benjamin Stuttard.
Brian
Bell made the motion seconded by Gerald Pedersen to accept the Minutes from the
December 8, 2014 Monthly Meeting. Thomas Kilts abstain, Gerald Pedersen aye, Benjamin
Stuttard aye, Brian Bell aye and John Misiaszek aye. Approved 4-0.

STONE
CHURCH:
Amendment to contract signed and
submitted (needed for financial). Closeout paperwork submitted. We are waiting
for approval of closeout and final funds to be received. Need to Bond and pay
back BAN. We will discuss at following meeting.
CW CLARK MEMORIAL LIBRARY: Library Director Susan Tice submitted
her Report for January 2015. It is on file for public knowledge. Brian Bell

FIRE
COMMISSIONERS:
Fire
Commissioners/Trustee Gerald Pedersen was present. The January 12, 2015 Minutes
and a Membership Application for Nicole Legacy were presented and are on file
for public knowledge. Mayor John Misiaszek asked Gerald about the Firemen’s
Banquet that was held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Celebrations on Tower
Street in Waterville.

CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER:
Code
Enforcement Officer Robert Piersma was absent; his Report for the month of
January 2015 is on file for public knowledge. The house at 175 Madison Street
will be tore down by the property owner on February 2, 2015. John Misiaszek made
the motion seconded by Gerald Pedersen to approve Codes Officer Robert

WWTP OPERATOR:
Robert
Galinski submitted his Waste Water Treatment Plant Operators Monthly Report for
December 2014 and is on file for public knowledge. Mayor John Misiaszek stated
that James Kilts has installed the pump control at WWTP. Trustee Brian Bell
does not agree with the Electrical portion of the WWTP Operator Report and
would like to see it metered separate.

SUPERINTENDENT
OF STREETS AND WATER:
Superintendent
Robert Bowie was present and his Report for the Month of January 2015 is on
file for public knowledge. Bob Bowie received an email from Shrier-Martin
Process Equipment representative Jim Coyne regarding the condition of the Maple
Ave Pump. The email shows that it will cost $1422 to fix the pump, $455 for the
pump evaluation and another $1200 to install overload relays. At his time
Clerk/Treasurer Amber Bell is looking into the financial situation of the Sewer
Fund. The Village has a sewer Reserve Account that has over $18,000 in it, but
we need to know if it’s acceptable to fix the pump with these funds.
There
was a discussion about the use of the Villages hydrant during a fire. Bob Bowie
will be talking to the Fire Chief about using the hydrants.
Matthew
Bowie submitted a vacation request for March 30th to April 4th.

of Augusta Clerk Sonya Furness submitted a request to install a drop box in her

the contractor that installs it must provide the Village with proof of

Village Board meeting for February has been moved to Wednesday, February 18,
2015 at 6:30PM.
The
Village of Oriskany Falls was awarded the 2014 NY Main Street Grant in the
amount of $250,000. The Village has agreed to publish an RFP for the Administration
of the grant; deadline submission will be February 18th at noon.
Mayor
John Misiaszek and Clerk/Treasurer Amber Bell met with applicants for the
Office Specialist position on Friday, January 9. The Mayor hired Linda Bikowsky
as the part time Office Specialist; she started on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at
$8 an hour for twelve hours a week and will fill in for the Village Clerk when
she is needed.
