The Monthly Meeting for the
Board of Trustees for the Village of Oriskany Falls was held on Monday, March
16, 2015, at 6:35PM. Present at the Meeting was Mayor John Misiaszek and
Trustees Thomas Kilts, Gerald Pedersen (7:10PM) and Benjamin Stuttard. Trustee Brian
Bell was absent.
Thomas
Kilts made the motion seconded by John Misiaszek to accept the Minutes from the
February 18, 2015 Monthly Meeting. Thomas Kilts aye, Gerald Pedersen absent, Benjamin
Stuttard aye, Brian Bell absent and John Misiaszek aye. Approved 3-0.
Public:
No members from the public were
present.
STONE CHURCH: Phillip
and Sylvia Burback Person returned a signed Stone Church Window Contract with
$1,000. That is the third contract the Village has received. The total amount
in account is $1,500.
CW CLARK MEMORIAL LIBRARY: Library
Director Sue Tice submits her report for March 2015 and a letter was received
from Secretary Joy Dapson. The letter stated that the Library will be holding a
Fireworks fund raiser on May 16, 2016 along with a bike safety program.

FIRE
COMMISSIONERS:
The
March 9, 2015 Minutes and two member applications are on file for public
knowledge along with an email from Fire Commissioner Dale Petrie explaining
that there was an accident with the fire trucks. A member was backing one truck
into the fire house and he accidently backed it into another fire truck. This
has been turned into the insurance company.
John
Misiaszek made the motion seconded by Benjamin Stuttard to approve the March 9,
2015 Minutes and member applications from Steve Jeffers and Miranda Veach. Thomas
Kilts aye, Gerald Pedersen absent, Benjamin Stuttard aye, Brian Bell absent and

CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER:
Code
Enforcement Officer Robert Piersma was absent; his Report for the month of March
2015 is on file for public knowledge. Mr. Piersma stated in his report that he
will be resigning from the Codes Enforcement Officer by January 2016. The
Village Board will be looking into his replacement within the next couple of
months.

WWTP OPERATOR:
Robert
Galinski submitted his Waste Water Treatment Plant Operators Monthly Report for
February 2015 and is on file for public knowledge. Mr. Galinski stated that Jim
Kilts is looking into the cost of a separate meter at WWTP.

Treatment Plant Operator Robert Galinski’s Report for the Month of February 2015.

OF STREETS AND WATER:
Superintendent
Robert Bowie was present and his report for March 2015 is on file for public
knowledge. The Permissive Referendum expires on March 18, 2015 if no comment is
received then Bob is to call the company Shrier Martin and tell them to fix the
pump for Maple Ave.

An email was received from Wendy Coston from SWOCO; SWOCO
has signed a contract with Bill Brady of Brady Farms to lease land from SWOCO in
the amount of $5,680 for the first year.

quote was received from James Kilts to add electrical boxes to the Assessor’s
Office. The quote was given to Steve Roys and he was told that if he wishes to
add these electrical boxes the Town of Augusta would have to pay the expense.
CDBG
Housing Grant- Two work Write-Ups and Cost breakdown by Structure were received
for Brian and Beverly Collins and Kaylyn Kimball. George and Anne Moon were
approved to have their chimney fixed in the amount of $550.

in the amount of $7,800 and Daniel Greene/Shawn Yager applicant in the amount
of $25,225 for the CDBG Housing Grant.

was a letter received from the Leslie family expressing their gratitude for the
CDBG Housing Grant that they received.
John Misiaszek made the motion
seconded by Thomas Kilts to approve the following; WHEREAS, in accordance with
the Title VIII Fair Housing Policy of the Civil Rights Act of 1968 and the fair
Housing Amendments Act of 1988 and,
WHEREAS, the month of April 2015
has been designated by the U.S. Department of the Housing and Urban Development
Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity as Fair Housing Month.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that
the Village Board of the Village of Oriskany Falls hereby declares and
proclaims April as Fair Housing Month in the Village.
Benjamin Stuttard, Village Trustee,
is the designated Fair Housing Officer of the Village of Oriskany Falls. If any
individual or family feels that they have been discriminated against in
obtaining suitable housing or housing accommodations of their choice, they can
call 315-821-7275, Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 4:00PM. Complaint Forms are
available.

letter was received from Elizabeth West stating that the water has been turned
off for a year so they are no longer liable for the sewer charge. Thomas Kilts

Kevin
O’Callaghan sent an email requesting to use his metal detector in the Village
Parks to find small objects. The Village Board approved his request as long as
he doesn’t dig.
State
of New York-Department of State sent a letter denying the Village the 2014-2015
Local Government Efficiency Grant-Shared Technology Service. This grant was for
all surrounding Villages and Town that use Digital Towpath for their websites.
The
Village Board must appoint a Main Street Committee and approve a list of
priorities for the Main Street Grant. The previous Main Street Committee
members will be asked to return and the priorities will be established at the
Villages Annual meeting to be held on Monday, April 6, 2015.
The
draft April 2015 Newsletter was presented.
The
Village Board Meetings for May and June will be moved; May 18th will
be moved to May 20th and June 15th will be moved to June
17th. The Annual Meeting will be held on Monday April 6th
at 6:30PM and the proposed 2015-2016 Budget will be reviewed.
Jennifer
Furner and Kristin Spinella have agreed to return for the Summer Youth and
Recreation Program.
MVCC
sent a proposal to the Village for training opportunities that could be shared
with surrounding Municipalities for $550.
