2016 Election Results

At the March 15, 2016 Village election there was a race for Village Mayor. This year the Mayoral term was for a one year term due to an appointment after last year’s election. The Incumbent Mayor John Misiaszek, III ran for re-election and Steven Jeffers ran against him.

John has been the Mayor for the past 8 years and trustee for two years before that.

During this year’s election there were 107 village residents that voted. Steve Jeffers won the Village election and will be the Village Mayor for a one year term. His term begins April 4th.

Two Trustee seats were available for the taking; Trustee Thomas Kilts decided to retire. Tom Kilts has been a trustee for the past 16 years. Trustee Benjamin Stuttard fulfilled his two year terms this year. Aimee Cornish ran for Trustee and won. While Paul Jeffers was on the ballot he has resigned the position. The Board will appoint a Trustee to a one year position.

Next year’s general election will be held March 21st for another Mayoral term and two Trustees for two year term each. Also, one Trustee will run for a one year term.

If you are interested in your local government please attend your Village Board meetings that are held once a month. They are the third Monday of the month at 6:30 and usually last up to two hours.
