Summer Recreation Program

The 2017 Summer Youth and Recreation Program will begin Monday, July 10th. The program runs for 5 weeks, Monday through Friday from 9AM to 2PM at the Maple Ave Park. The program ends Friday, August 11.

All children that live in the Village of Oriskany Falls and Town of Augusta that have completed Kindergarten and up to Sixth Grade are welcome to join the program.

On rainy days the program will move to the Fire House Pavilion for activities. There will be a message board up at the Maple Ave Pavilion to notify the parents as to the children's whereabouts.

The Village will again be participating in the BOCES Free Lunch Program. So you do not need to bring a lunch for any child that attends.

The Director for the Summer Y&R Program is Wendy Looman and the Assistant Director is Jane Gray. They are working hard to provide a fun filled five week program.

Applications are available now at the Village Hall and Library. You may also sign your child up anytime during the program.  Please hand in your paperwork to the Director and/or Assistant Director on the first day that your child attends the program.

Stone Church Update….

Through the hard work of the Stone Church Restoration Committee, they have secured funding for twelve stained glass windows to be repaired. Of those twelve windows, eight of them have already been restored! The side of the building facing the Library has all new stained glass windows and plexy glass to save the precious window from any mishaps. Not only is the committee securing funding from interested individuals to restore a window, but they are actively cleaning the building! If you would like to help with preserving our historic building and/ or if you would like a contract to restore a window please either stop at the Village Hall or call Marylyn (315) 404-3142 or Bobbie (315) 269-4099. They are also looking to restore the front doors!!!  Thank you for your interest in the beautification of the Village! A Fundraising Chicken BBQ is coming in August, look for pre-sale tickets!

The  2016 CDBG Housing Rehabilitation Grant is underway! This is the Village of Oriskany Falls second Housing Rehabilitating Grant in over three years. The last grant helped to rehabilitate 14 homes in the Village. Applications are available now; pick yours up at the Village Hall. Don’t wait; you could be a recipient of up to $26,000 to help with home renovations!
